- A few words about the topic of your lecture: what is it about? Why this topic is important to discuss?
In the Congress IASGO 2018, I would like to talk about "Liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma". This topic is important, because hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is still major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide and its incidence is increasing. Although well-established oncologic therapy (bridge therapy) has the capacity to suspend tumor progression, liver transplantation offers a potential cure to improve survival for this otherwise devastating disease. In an era of graft shortage, living donor liver transplantation that we have extensive experience becomes more important. I will be more than happy to share my knowledge and experience with my colleagues.
- What are your expectations from visiting Moscow during the Congress?
For the next question about my expectations from visiting Moscow, I can barely say that, it will be a big meeting in which a lot of great authors that are some of the tops in their fields get together to share their very recent experience, developments and future research ideas. Also, Moscow is the one of the great cities to discover.
We are glad to present you the brief interviews of the speakers of the 30th Anniversary World Congress IASGO 2018! There you will find information about the lecture topics and professors expectations from trip to Moscow.
